So I have an announcement that I have been dying to make since Sunday evening. We decided to wait a day to make sure that everything was going to work out, but Fella and I have a new addition.
He's all legs and a lot a bit clumsy. He may or may not run head first into things. All the time.
He may be the most adorable thing ever when he sleeps. Or ever. He may be the most adorable thing ever.
And he already wants to help me when I'm working. (Okay, maybe he just wants to nap and cuddle in my lap).
And he never wants to be more than about a foot from you.
Fella and I have been discussing getting a dog for a while now. We both grew up with black Labs, so picking the breed was a no brainer. On Sunday afternoon, we decided to start doing some browsing. We found a picture of a dog online located at a nearby shelter so we decided to drive over on a whim....come to find out the shelter has been quarantined by the department of agriculture. For reals. So we went home, a little heartbroken.
Once we got home, Fella jumped on the computer to play a video game for a bit and I hopped online to look at puppies. I found a posting on petfinder.com for a litter of 9 week old lab puppies housed by a local rescue, Hope Animal Rescue. On a whim, I called the number. They were at a Petsmart about 30 minutes away and there was only one puppy left out of the litter. I don't know why, but I felt like we had to go. So I told them that they had to wait for us to show up. We were jumping in the car and would be there ASAP. On the way there, Fella and his BFF were asking me the normal questions.....color, gender, etc. I didn't have any answers. I just knew we had to go see this puppy. We walked into the store and it was love at first sight. For both Fella and I. He was exactly what we were looking for and we couldn't be happier with him.
So far so good. No accidents in the house. He knows how to sit and he hasn't chewed on anything other than his toys. He sleeps through almost the entire night. And, most importantly, he loves to cuddle at all times.
Best. Dog. Ever.
Best Future Running Buddy. Ever.
Me and the newest love of my life!
